Pre-Commission Cleans

Even brand-new ductwork systems can accumulate dust, dirt and other contaminants prior to installation. In many cases, this is because they sit around on a building site for days or weeks on end, waiting to be installed, where they are exposed to various forms of debris.

That is why IHSL provides a pre-commission cleaning service, also referred to as “pre-commissioning”, which includes cleaning the entire ductwork system before it becomes operational.

What does pre-commissioning involve?

  • Inspection – We carry out a thorough visual inspection beforehand to identify any potential issues and determine the levels of contaminants present. Once the clean is complete, we perform a second inspection to ensure a thorough clean.
  • Vacuuming – Our expert technicians employ a specialised vacuum system to rid the ductwork of any loose debris.
  • Brushing – Using cutting-edge technology fitted with rotating brushes, we can dislodge and remove dirt, debris and grime from interior ductwork surfaces.
  • Airflow – On occasion, we may utilise a machine that pressurises the ductwork and pushes a powerful airflow through the system, expelling any loose debris out the other end.
  • Sealing – Once we have cleaned every system grille and open-ended ductwork, we apply a polythene seal to prevent any dust or debris from entering the duct while other contractors are on site.
